Trustworthy Illustrations Present What Girls Do When No One Is Watching

In April 2015, Little Rock Illustrator Sally Nixon began a venture referred to as “365” during which she needed to create one illustration per day for an entire 12 months. Because it was not that straightforward to consider new concepts so steadily, Sally began to seek for inspiration in her personal life and easy routine moments that she’s going via. The artist wished to indicate the pure facet of girls in addition to staged Instagram selfies, Snapchat filters, and all the opposite types of social media that rule our world.

The ladies of Nixon’s illustrations are captured doing their informal issues like having a shower, consuming in mattress, brushing their tooth, strolling round the home with out pants, and having lazy TV time with their buddies. In different phrases – girls when no person’s watching.

“They don’t have good our bodies or good habits and that makes them relatable,” she explains to TL Andrews. “The scenes I create round them are on a regular basis locations: a toilet, a restaurant, a messy bed room. Nevertheless, my objective with every drawing is to raise the seemingly mundane to one thing particular.”
