Ghostlike Underwater Portraits Of Bodysurfers By Australian Photographer Trent Mitchell

Trent Mitchell is an Australian photographer whose works focus loads on the ocean. In his newest collection, titled Inner Atlasthe artist took superb black & white photos of individuals practising what he calls “probably the most pure type of wave using” – bodysurfing.

The photographer says the collection celebrates the human spirit by way of actions of the ocean in an unfamiliar and forgotten house. He felt intrigued by the wave riders and wished to seek out out what attracts individuals to this primitive artwork. “How does it really feel flowing on the excellent pace, immersed inside the fluidity of the of the ocean? What’s revealed when one’s spirit expands into the house that surrounds?” asks Trent.
